“If life is not challenging you now, just wait a little. It’ll come.”
*This is not just for me..I have several rescued animals who I am committed to caring for so I am asking for them. Thank you a million for those who have contributed. I am still between $2500 and $3000 short. A few weeks ago the power went out in San Francisco and I read that many were very upset because they couldn’t make any money that day. They paced up and down, staring at their cell phones. This is by no means the main problem when you don’t have electricity. I have described the realities of having no electricity below.
The batteries for my solar system are old and they are going out quickly. They need to be replaced. We are living now with almost no electricity. When the batteries go out completely, there will be no electricity here. What does that mean for us? It means no water [the pump is powered by the solar system], it means no phone, no refrigerator, no computer…I will not be able to write these posts anymore or manage the etsy store I’ve worked SO hard on lately.
Yes people can live without electricity..it requires a lot of sacrifice but it can be done. At this time in my life, I do not even want to try. We have several rescued animals and they need water and until the world and everything collapses, I need to be able to use my computer and the phone….and we need to keep the wolfdogs food refrigerated. From time to time, I sell our documentary films and we’re starting to sell some things from our etsy store, LA CASA DE ROSAS. We live on $600 a month [see why on my gofundme page] and the sale of DVDS and art provide us with a little bit of much needed income…so I need to be able to use the computer.
As it is we live very simply and in a way that most people in the US cannot imagine and would not want to. Our only source of heat is 2 wood stoves we have a greenhouse for vegetables and we use barter a lot.
So if you can, if you want to help in any way, here is my gofundme page. I have done non profit work most of my life-the story, a record of some of my work with terminally ill people, Native Americans and Elders is on the gofundme page. My wolf rescue friends and other animal lovers have raised $1000 so far. We can continue on and contribute in many ways but we will need help in order to do so.
Thank you for whatever you can contribute ..in any way.–words of encouragement, thoughts and prayers help also. And thank you always to all those who helped me this past year, one of the hardest years of my life.
